Kiwanis Park - Iowa City

The Kiwanis Park playscape project is the inspiration behind Abundant Playscapes.  Tony Malkusak was one of the landscape architects brought on to create and oversee the implementation of the project.  Built in 2000/2001, Kiwanis Park offered children an opportunity to play in an accessible environment that focused on natural elements rather than playground equipment made from metal and plastic.  The cost of the one acre playscape in 2000 was approximately $100,000.
